Individual therapy

One-on-one support for understanding yourself, navigating life’s challenges, and creating meaningful change. Online throughout Washington State.

Who this is for

Many of my individual clients come to therapy because they keep finding themselves in the same place in their relationships. Maybe you pull away when things get close, or worry that the people you love will leave. Maybe you give a lot and still feel unseen, or you know your patterns well and still can’t seem to change them.

These patterns usually make sense. They often began as ways of staying safe and connected, shaped by early family experiences and past relationships. In our work together, we get curious about how they developed, the parts of you that learned to protect you, and what those parts need now. We’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.

My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply, heal what still needs care, and build more secure, fulfilling ways of connecting with others, and with yourself.

If anxiety, burnout, or the aftermath of difficult experiences are part of what brought you in, those are welcome here too.

What sessions are like

My work with individuals is primarily informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS). We start by getting curious about the different parts of you that show up in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Rather than judging or trying to get rid of those parts, we explore what they may be protecting and what they need.

I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify thought and behavioral patterns that may be keeping you stuck and work toward practical changes.

For clients working through relationship patterns, understanding your own side of the cycle can be an important part of creating healthier ways of connecting with others.

Questions people ask

What if I don’t know exactly what I need therapy for?

You don’t need to have it figured out before starting. We can begin with what’s bringing you in and work together to understand what you need.

How do I know if individual therapy is right for me?

Individual therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others, or noticing patterns you want to understand and change. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

What if I’m mostly struggling with my relationships?

You don’t have to bring your partner to therapy to work on relationship patterns. We can explore your own experiences, patterns, and ways of responding, which can create meaningful change in your relationships.

How often will we meet?

Sessions are typically weekly to start. As things begin to feel more manageable, we can talk about spacing sessions out.

Do you treat mental health conditions?

Yes. I work with a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, burnout, ADHD, self-esteem, life transitions, and relationship concerns. We’ll talk together about what you’re experiencing and what kind of support makes sense for you.
